Retail Sales Manager – Bakers Delight Ipswich

About the Role

Bakers Delight Ipswich is looking to appoint a Retail Sales Manager to lead our in-store team and drive sales performance. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail workplace and genuinely enjoys developing people.

Key Responsibilities
Drive sales performance and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service across the team
Lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team spanning a wide age range, bringing staff on side without being aggressive or overly pushy
Roster and manage staff schedules.
Oversee day-to-day store operations, including stock control, merchandising, and presentation standards
Ensure food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards are maintained at all times
Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of team members
Monitor wastage, cash handling, and other cost-control measures
Report on sales performance and team KPIs to the Owner/Director

Requirements




Previous experience in a retail, hospitality, or bakery management role (essential)
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, particularly across wide-ranging age groups
Strong customer service focus with a genuine passion for the customer experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure in a rapid-paced environment
Flexibility to work weekends and early mornings as part of the roster
Sound understanding of retail operations, including stock management and rostering
A positive, hands-on leadership style — someone who leads by example rather than by pressure

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
