Hays is partnering with a busy and high-performing public sector organisation seeking two Development Assessment Planners to provide immediate support through a period of increased application volumes.
These roles will focus on the pre-lodgement and lodgement review stage of the development assessment process, ensuring applications are complete, compliant and ready to progress efficiently through the assessment pathway.

Your new role

As a Development Assessment Planner, you will play a key role in the early stages of the DA process by:
Reviewing development applications at lodgement stage
Undertaking preliminary planning assessments and compliance checks
Identifying missing information and application deficiencies
Providing advice to applicants, consultants and internal stakeholders on lodgement requirements
Interpreting relevant planning legislation, LEPs, DCPs and council policies
Supporting the efficient progression of applications through the DA assessment process
Preparing correspondence and recommendations relating to application completeness and planning requirements

What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a related discipline
Previous experience in development assessment,



statutory planning or development services
Strong understanding of NSW planning legislation and DA processes
Excellent attention to detail and ability to review applications against planning controls
Robust written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
