Salary : $75,000 - $90,000 a year

MATelec Australia is a significant player in the industry, sourcing, designing, manufacturing, and distributing an exceptional range of electrical products throughout the Oceania region. The manufacturing facility, located in Shepperton, Victoria, has capability to design, engineer, manufacture and deliver our range of products, both locally and abroad.

MATelec Australia is currently is looking for hardworking and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Design mechanical components, assemblies and enclosures for electrical and automation products.
Develop products from concept through to production release.
Produce detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and product documentation.
Conduct engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and design validation.
Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Serviceability principles.
Collaborate with electrical, electronics and software engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical systems.




Identify opportunities for product innovation, cost reduction and performance improvement.
Research current materials, technologies and manufacturing methods.
Participate in recent product development projects and engineering reviews.
Investigate product failures and determine root causes
Maintain engineering documentation within document control systems.

We require someone with the following:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years' experience in product design or manufacturing engineering.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar).
Experience developing products for manufacture.
Knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, machining, die-casting and fabrication processes.
Solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
