Strategy & Business Development Manager – Energy Infrastructure

People8 has partnered with an established infrastructure contractor seeking a senior Strategy & Business Development Manager to drive growth across the electricity distribution market.

This role combines strategic market development with hands-on business development across major energy organisations.

You’ll bring genuine distribution-sector experience, strong industry relationships and a proven ability to turn relationships into commercial opportunities.

About the Company An integrated electrical, civil and telecommunications contractor delivering end-to-end infrastructure projects. The business is investing in its next phase of growth, with a particular focus on expanding its presence across electricity distribution and strengthening relationships with major participants in the Australian energy market.

This is not a purely strategic position. You will work closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities, establish recent client relationships, strengthen existing networks and convert market opportunities into a sustainable pipeline of work.

Requirements




Demonstrated electricity distribution experience is essential, with a robust understanding of the Australian energy and utilities market
Proven business development capability, including originating opportunities and converting relationships into a genuine pipeline
Established relationships across major energy retailers, distributors, network operators and infrastructure stakeholders
Ability to build credibility with senior decision-makers and develop relationships with strategically significant energy organisations
Commercially astute with experience shaping growth strategy, tenders, partnerships and market opportunities
