Your recent company A well-established organisation operating across multiple Australian states is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join its collaborative payroll team. Working within a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate payroll services to a large and diverse workforce while contributing to ongoing payroll operations and process improvements. Your new role Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will join a team of four payroll professionals and take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across a complex workforce.
This position offers an immediate start, initially on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities - Processing weekly and fortnightly payrolls for approximately 800 employees
Managing payroll across multiple Australian states
Interpreting and applying multiple Enterprise Agreements and Awards
Processing payroll for both blue-collar and white-collar workforces
Managing payroll queries and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and award requirements
Assisting with payroll reporting,
reconciliations and end-of-period activities
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processes What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or highly experienced Payroll Officer
Proven experience managing complex, high-volume payrolls
Solid understanding of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation
Experience processing payrolls across multiple states
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities What you'll get in return - Immediate start opportunity
