Senior Business Analyst:
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with deep Utilities domain expertise across energy retail and telecommunications. The ideal candidate brings solid knowledge of end-to-end utility business processes and has worked on CIS/billing platforms — with hands-on experience in Gentrack Velocity highly regarded.
Own requirements analysis and documentation across core utility domains — billing, metering, customer lifecycle, market transactions, payments, and credit management.
Deep understanding of end-to-end energy retail processes — Customer Onboarding, Meter-to-Cash, tariff structures, network charges, and settlement.
Support compliance with Australian energy market frameworks — NECF obligations, AEMO market procedures, MSATS/CATS transaction flows, and B2B messaging.
Analyse complex billing scenarios — consumption-based billing, adjustments, rebills, concessions, and final bills — and translate these into transparent functional requirements.
Work across metering processes — meter reads, MDS/MDM data flows, interval data validation, and their downstream billing impacts.
Translate business requirements into functional designs, process maps,
and configuration specifications for CIS/billing platforms including Gentrack Velocity.
Lead UAT planning, test scenario development, defect triage, and business sign-off.
Engage stakeholders across operations, regulatory, and technology teams throughout delivery
Skills & Experience:
5–8 years of BA experience in the Energy/Utilities sector — preferably Australian or Current Zealand energy retail.
Robust working knowledge of energy market operations — billing, metering, market transactions, collections, credit/debt, and customer management.
Solid understanding of AEMO market frameworks — NEM, MSATS, CATS, B2B procedures, switching, and NECF compliance.
Experience working on CIS or billing platform implementations or transformations.
Hands-on experience with Gentrack Velocity — configuration, billing modules, or market transaction workflows.
Experience in telco BSS/billing or provisioning processes is an advantage.
Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, or ADO for requirements and backlog management
Desirable:
Exposure to MuleSoft or middleware integration patterns in a utility context.
CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent BA certification.
