As Head Chef, you'll run the kitchen day-to-day and report directly to the Restaurant Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a quick-paced, high-volume venue and wants ownership over kitchen standards, food cost, and team culture.
Key responsibilities
Lead, roster and develop the back-of-house team
Own kitchen standards and consistency across all service periods
Manage food cost, stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
Ensure full compliance with food safety and WHS requirements
Drive menu development in line with the venue's brand and concept
Train, onboard and mentor kitchen staff
Work closely with the Restaurant Manager on venue-wide standards and peak-period planning
About you
Proven knowledge of handling and cooking steak.
Proven experience as a Head Chef or senior Sous Chef in a high-volume venue
Current Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
Solid leadership, communication and rostering skills
A cool head and steady pace during busy, high-energy service
Availability across evenings and weekends
A genuine passion for hospitality and building a great team culture
