About the Role Sec13 is seeking an experienced Chef to prepare and cook menu items while supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen. The successful candidate will maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation while ensuring all dishes are prepared in accordance with established recipes and food safety requirements.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 + Superannuation

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
Monitor cooking processes to maintain food quality, consistency and timely service
Inspect food ingredients and food products to ensure quality and freshness
Regulate the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment during food preparation




Season, portion and present dishes to maintain consistency in taste and appearance
Store food and ingredients appropriately in temperature-controlled storage areas
Assist with monitoring stock levels and the efficient use of ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment and storage areas
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to support effective service during all operating periods

Candidate Requirements
Relevant qualification such as Certificate IV, Diploma in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
Experience preparing authentic Indian cuisine will be highly regarded
Strong understanding of commercial kitchen operations and cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety practices
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Solid teamwork, communication and organisational skills
