The Role
Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join their Melbourne Medical Negligence team.
Supporting a busy and high-performing team of lawyers, you will play an integral role in large-scale litigation matters, assisting with document management, file administration and day-to-day legal support.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected Medical Negligence practice where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing legal documents, correspondence and court documentation
Managing electronic files and document management systems
Assisting with document reviews and maintaining accurate records
Diary management and coordinating meetings
Liaising with clients, counsel and internal stakeholders
Billing, file management and general administrative support
Providing ongoing support to a busy litigation team
About You




This role would suit an organised Legal Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced litigation environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
The successful candidate will have
Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary within a law firm
Litigation experience, ideally within medical negligence, insurance or defendant practice (highly regarded)
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Robust written and verbal communication skills
Confidence managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines
Experience using legal document management and billing systems
A proactive attitude and willingness to be part of a collaborative team
