About the role
As Events Coordinator, you will coordinate a energetic portfolio of Council events and programs, working collaboratively with internal teams, community organisations, government agencies, suppliers, contractors, volunteers, sponsors and media partners.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Leading the delivery of major Council events including community, cultural, civic and seasonal events, from planning through to evaluation.
Developing new opportunities to activate Ku-ring-gai, including creating an annual new event that responds to community interests.
Building partnerships and securing funding through sponsorships, grants and strong relationships with community, corporate, arts and government organisations.
Coordinating event marketing and promotion with Council's Communications Team, media partners and other stakeholders.
Leading and supporting event teams, including staff, volunteers, contractors and suppliers, to deliver safe, high-quality events.
Managing event planning, budgets, risk and reporting,
including maintaining a Council-wide events calendar and providing advice and reports to Council and senior management.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Extensive experience in events, with a proven track record delivering community and/or corporate events.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in event management or a related field, plus a current Class C Driver Licence.
Strong event management skills, including budgeting, risk assessment, evaluation and the coordination of staff, volunteers and contractors.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, lead teams and deliver outstanding customer service.
Experience in marketing, social media and public relations, with the ability to promote events and engage diverse audiences.
A strong understanding of sponsorship and partnerships, with demonstrated ability to identify funding opportunities and build relationships with corporate, community and government stakeholders.
