Assistant Accountant

This is a hands‐on role covering a broad range of transactional finance responsibilities across both Australian and New Zealand accounts.

What's involved?
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, your responsibilities will include:
AP & AR processing and reconciliations
Invoice, expense and credit card processing
Fortnightly payment runs and payroll support
Customer payments, statements and debtors
Supplier and customer queries
Bank reconciliations
Intercompany transactions
Month‐end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Fixed asset register maintenance
P&L; support and reporting
General finance administration
Ad hoc tasks and process improvements
What we're looking for




We're looking for someone with previous experience in a transactional finance or Assistant Accountant position who enjoys working acrossAP, AR and general ledger functions.
You'll ideally bring:
A valuable understanding of transactional finance and accounting terminology
Previous experience across AP and/or AR
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem‐solving abilities
The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
The ability to work calmly and accurately in a fast‐paced environment
The role involves supporting New Zealand accounts, including payroll, as well as providing assistance across Australian accounts.
The opportunity
Mascot location
$75,000 - $85,000 + Super
MON - FRI - 38 hours per week
Flexible start times
Ideally office‐based5 days per week, however there is some flexibility for the right person
Birthday leave
Broad role with exposure across AP, AR, payroll and general ledger
