About the CentreThe Boroondara Sports Complex is one of 4 facilities in Boroondara, and is owned by City of Boroondara and managed proudly by The Y. The facility contains a Health Club, 5 basketball courts, 2 program rooms, an outdoor aquatic area consisting of 50m pool, toddler pool and dive pool, café, gymnastics studio and child care services.
About the roleAs an Infant and Preschool Swim Teacher at Boroondara Sports Complex, you will design and implement lesson plans that foster swimming skills in children from infancy through school age.
You will combine stroke development with water safety to boost your students' confidence and abilities in the water.
Your role will include:
Structure and design of lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
Recommending students for level progression as appropriate
Teaching and modeling effective problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills
This is a casual role with an hourly rate of up to $***** + super & Y Benefits.
About youYou will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people.
Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary.
Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher!

Essential QualificationsHLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics
Other Desired QualificationsTeacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
