We are currently seeking a friendly, reliable and enthusiasticFront of House / Floral Warehouse Assistantto join the team at a leading floral wholesale business located inSandgate, Newcastle.
This is a varied, hands-on role combiningcustomer service, floral product knowledge and warehouse duties.
You don't need years of floristry experience - we're looking for someone who already hassome practical floral knowledge, is comfortable working with fresh flowers and, most importantly, is keen to learn and develop their skills.
The role will initially becasual ongoing, working approximately 3-4 days per week, includingsome Saturdays, with early starts of approximately6:30-7:00am.
For the right person, there is also thepotential to progress into a full-time role directly with the business in the future, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a longer-term career in the floral industry.
Pay Rate: $***** per hour
About the Role
Working across both the front-of-house and warehouse areas, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting customers and providing friendly, knowledgeable service
Helping customers with flower and product selections
Merchandising and maintaining attractive front-of-house displays
Receiving and checking incoming fresh flower and plant stock
Preparing fresh flowers for storage and sale
Checking product quality and identifying floral varieties
Maintaining and organising cool room stock
Picking, checking and preparing customer orders
Assisting with stock counts and stocktakes
General warehouse and housekeeping duties
Maintaining a clean, organised and protected working environment




About You
We're looking for someone who:
Hassome floristry experience, training or practical floral knowledge
Can recognise a range of common flowers and floral varieties
Enjoys working with customers and has a friendly, helpful approach
Is genuinely interested inlearning more about flowers and developing their skills
Is happy working across both customer-facing and hands-on warehouse duties
Is reliable, punctual and comfortable with6:30-7:00am starts
Is available approximately3-4 days per week, including some Saturdays
Has good attention to detail, particularly when handling fresh product
Is physically capable of performing the manual tasks associated with a floral warehouse environment
Is comfortable working in cool room conditions
Works well both independently and as part of a team
Extensive floristry experience isn't essential.If you have a good foundation of floral knowledge, a genuine interest in the industry and the enthusiasm to learn, we'd like to hear from you.
