We work across a diverse range of commercial projects, transforming architectural concepts, client drawings and specifications into detailed, manufacture-ready solutions.
We are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson with pytha experience to join our team at Fairfield East, Manufacturing Facility.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Architectural Draftsperson will be responsible for interpreting architectural, design and client documentation and developing detailed shop drawings, technical drawings and 3D models for client approval and manufacture.
Working closely with our production and operations teams, you will play an important role in taking projects from architectural and design documentation through detailed drafting and into production.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, plans, specifications and client documentation
Preparing detailed shop drawings and technical drawings using PYTHA
Developing accurate 3D models and detailed documentation for commercial furniture and interior projects
Translating architectural and design concepts into practical, manufacture-ready documentation
Preparing drawings incorporating required dimensions, details, sections and schedules
Reviewing and revising drawings in accordance with client and project mark-ups
Ensuring drawings accurately reflect approved designs, specifications and construction requirements
Liaising with architects, designers, project stakeholders and internal teams where required to clarify design and technical requirements
Working closely with Production, Operations and Procurement to resolve design and construction issues
Providing technical information and drawings to support the manufacturing process
Liaising with factory and installation teams regarding construction details and installation requirements
Maintaining accurate project and drawing documentation
Contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of the company's PYTHA drawing and product library
Ensuring drafting work meets required quality, safety and production standards
About You
To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:
A relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Architectural Drafting, Architecture, Building Design, Interior Design or a related discipline
A minimum of 2 years' relevant qualified drafting experience
Demonstrated experience using PYTHA
Strong architectural and technical drafting capabilities
Experience interpreting architectural plans, drawings and specifications
Experience preparing detailed shop drawings and/or construction documentation
Sound understanding of construction and detailing principles
Strong 3D modelling and CAD skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Good written and verbal communication skills
The ability to communicate effectively with designers, project teams and manufacturing personnel
The ability to manage priorities and work across multiple projects
Experience within commercial interiors, office furniture, joinery, cabinetry, fitout or a manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.
Familiarity with CNC manufacturing processes, cutting lists and CNC programming will also be highly regarded but is not an essential requirement of the position.
