The Opportunity
A well-established, purpose-driven organisation is seeking an experiencedAssistant Accountantto join its finance team.
Reporting closely to the Finance Manager and CFO, this is a hands-on role with exposure across financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, payroll and finance systems.
The role would suit an Assistant Accountant with1-3+ years' experiencewho enjoys a broad role and is looking to further develop their technical accounting and commercial finance skills within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with month-end close, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes.
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including coding, cost centre allocations and resolution of discrepancies.
Prepare and assist with budget-to-actual and forecast variance analysis.
Oversee accounting and month-end activities for allocated programs or entities.




Assist with tax preparation and statutory lodgements.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and efficiencies.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external system providers to resolve issues and improve processes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
1-4 years in a comparable role with exposure to GL accounting / month-end work
Part or complete CA/CPA qualifications
Experience across month-end, year-end and audit processes.
Exposure to payroll and statutory compliance
Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
