Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our Queensland estimating function and play a pivotal role in securing major commercial construction opportunities across the state.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity to work closely with our senior leadership team, shape tender strategy, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our Queensland business.
About the Role
As the Estimating Manager, you'll lead the Queensland Estimating team while driving the strategic approach to tenders, cost planning and submissions.
You'll be responsible for pricing a diverse portfolio of commercial fitout, refurbishment and construction projects while ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive and aligned with current market conditions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading, mentoring and developing the Queensland Estimating team while driving consistency, continuous improvement and best-practice estimating processes
Reviewing tender documentation to understand project scope, risks and commercial requirements
Preparing accurate tender estimates, cost plans and budget estimates
Identifying and managing commercial and project risks throughout the tender process




Working closely with senior leadership to develop winning tender strategies
Collaborating with Project Managers, Procurement and Business Development teams to deliver high-quality submissions
Monitoring current market trends, material pricing and labour rates to ensure competitive pricing
Maintaining and improving estimating systems, databases and processes
Reviewing project outcomes by comparing estimated versus actual costs to drive continuous improvement
Preparing and presenting cost plans and commercial reports as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A tertiary qualification or trade background in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
A minimum of 10 years' experience within the commercial construction industry
Proven experience leading successful tenders for commercial fitout, refurbishment and construction projects valued up to $20 million
Demonstrated experience across a broad range of procurement models, including ECI, Lump Sum, Design & Construct and Construction Management
Demonstrated experience preparing detailed tender programmes and project-specific methodologies
Robust proficiency using Cubit and Cubit Select




Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, materials and labour costing
Demonstrated ability to identify commercial risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
Previous experience leading, mentoring and developing estimating teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
A collaborative leadership style with a continuous improvement mindset
