Monday to Friday | Rotating Roster between 7:30am and 5:00pm

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to support the daily operation of our specialist PET/CT and Theranostics clinics in North Melbourne.
As the first point of contact for patients, carers, referrers and visitors, you will play a vital role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring the smooth coordination of appointments, billing and administrative processes.
This is a busy, patient-focused role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a healthcare environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome patients, carers and visitors in a professional and compassionate manner
Manage incoming telephone calls,
referrals and patient enquiries
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments across multiple services
Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Process Medicare claims, patient billing, EFTPOS transactions and account enquiries
Confirm appointments and communicate preparation instructions to patients
Liaise with referring practitioners and healthcare providers
Provide administrative support to clinical, therapy and research teams
Import and export medical images via PACS systems
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy and clinic policies
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Patient Services Officer, Booking Clerk, Medicare Administrator or Healthcare Administrator
Experience managing patient appointments within a busy healthcare workplace
Experience with Medicare billing, patient accounts and EFTPOS processing
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence using medical software and learning new systems
A warm, professional and patient-centred approach
Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to confidentiality
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Highly Regarded
Experience in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Medical Imaging, Specialist Clinics or Hospital Outpatient Departments
Experience using RIS and PACS systems
Experience using Visage RIS
