Your Role at St John of God Midland Public Hospital
We are seeking experienced and motivated Anaesthetists to join our service on a fixed-term basis, providing leave cover across our department, with the possibility of transitioning into permanent positions.
Multiple opportunities are available, and we offer flexibility to appoint one or more successful candidates.
Appointment duration and FTE arrangements will be tailored to departmental priorities and service requirements.

Anaesthetic Department
12 operating theatres.
On par to exceed 12,000 cases annually.
Excellent, varied case-mix providing a broad clinical experience, including paediatrics, obstetrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, plastics, urology, gynaecology, ENT, ophthalmology and gastroenterology.
12 bed ICU/HDU support.
The Position
Work as a Consultant to provide specialist medical services to patients within the specialty.
Be actively involved in perioperative patient optimisation and post-operative follow up care.
Accept appropriate referrals both internal and external to the hospital, in accordance with the hospital's role delineation.
Participate in the preadmission clinic, its structure, resources and the education of medical and nursing staff involved.
Contribute to the acute pain service.
When required conducts daily consultant supervised acute pain rounds as per the departmental roster.
Proportionately participates in a departmental after hours on call roster including weekdays, weekends and public holidays.




Be available to assist in airway or resuscitation crises when called upon throughout the hospital.
Provide consultant proximal after hours cover as required on the departmental roster.
Qualifications and Experience
You will have Fellowship with the Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
You will have substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment, including Paediatric and Obstetric Anaesthesia.
A fellowship with the Faculty of Pain Medicine will be highly regarded.

We can offer
Highly competitive salary & conditions ($368,815- $485,294 plus 12% superannuation per annum, pro rata for part time).
