Crowne Plaza Hobart (TAS,****) is seeking a Conference an Events Manager-Banquets to join on a full-time basis.
What is the job?
As the Conference and Events Manager - Banquets (Full Time), you will coordinate and deliver conferences, functions, banquets and events from initial client requirements through to completion, including venue, catering, staffing, suppliers, audiovisual requirements and event logistics.
Your day to day
Meeting clients and identifying event requirements.
Preparing proposals, packages and event plans.
Responding to enquiries about venue, catering and equipment costs.
Coordinating audiovisual equipment, signage, displays and accommodation where applicable.
Negotiating service arrangements within client budgets.




Coordinating external suppliers and contractors.
Preparing event schedules and run sheets.
Organising registrations and guest logistics.
Monitoring the event and resolving issues as they arise.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team, supporting onboarding and development.
Maintain service delivery to IHG brand standards and Crowne Plaza Hobart goals.
What we need from you
Minimum two to three years' experience in conference and event coordination, event management, banquet operations or a closely related role, including responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering functions, conferences and events.
A degree in business management or relevant field
Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
A flexible, adaptive approach and a professional, friendly manner.
RSA Certificate (valid in TAS).
Based in Hobart or willing to relocate
