This full-time position is in a pig farming business. Your responsibility will be care and welfare for stock, ensuring their health, safety and productivity.
Key responsibilities
Feeding and watering pigs according to set schedules and requirements
Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in the piggery pens and facilities
Monitoring pig health and wellbeing, and reporting any issues to the farm manager
Assisting with breeding, farrowing and other pig husbandry activities as needed
Operating and maintaining piggery equipment and infrastructure
Adhering to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
About you
Previous experience working in a livestock based role
Strong animal handling skills and a keen interest in animal welfare
Ability to work independently and as a team to complete daily tasks
Positive physical fitness to handle the demands of the role
Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and biosecurity
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
