Dysart Hospital in Queensland is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join its Emergency Department on a contract basis. This is a five-week placement running from 31 August to 4 October ****, offering the prospect to work in a rural nursing environment where clinical skills and leadership are highly valued. The role is graded RN Grade 5, with a salary range of AUD$***** to AUD$***** per hour, and involves rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts with a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight.
Lead and manage the Emergency Department, potentially as the sole RN on shift
AUD$***** to AUD$***** per hour, with overtime available beyond 80 hours per fortnight
Five-week contract with two placement opportunities, rotating shifts in a rural healthcare setting
Preferred Requirements




Demonstrated rural nursing and emergency department experience
Competence in triage and resuscitation protocols
Ability to team lead and manage ward operations, including solo shift management
Proficiency with QLD ieMR, FirstNet, PowerChart, and HBCIS systems
Own vehicle highly recommended due to the remote location of the facility
Preferred Qualifications
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Previous experience with Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or equivalent emergency nursing qualification
