Based in Glebe and working across Sydney, you will manage injury management and return to work for a portfolio of outsourced client accounts. It is an embedded, proactive role — you become the person those employers rely on, and you own what happens on their claims. This is not case administration. You are accountable for how quickly claims close, what they cost, and whether clients stay.
Key responsibilities
Manage claims end to end across multiple client accounts, from referral to sustainable return to work
Make contact with the worker, employer and treating doctor the day a referral lands
Arrange and drive medical case conferences that move capacity, not just review it
Keep every return to work plan current, signed and progressing
Track cost and duration against benchmark weekly, and act on drift before it compounds
Deliver client reporting on time, without being chased
Build employer capability — early reporting, suitable duties, return to work culture
Identify service opportunities and canvass new business through your own networks
About you
Experience in workers compensation claims, injury management or return to work coordination — NSW scheme experience strongly preferred
SIRA-accredited Return to Work Coordinator training
An allied health background — physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology,
nursing or psychology — is well regarded but not essential
Commercially aware, and comfortable talking about cost, duration and value directly with a client
Organised enough to run a portfolio rather than a single caseload, and to hold several accounts to different standards at once
Confident with employers, workers, treating practitioners and insurers alike
Self-directed. This is a fast-paced role with genuine autonomy, and the people who do well here do not wait to be told what the priority is
Current NSW driver's licence
About us
Ache Group is a NSW occupational rehabilitation and injury management provider. We are not on insurer panels — every account we hold was won on results and is kept the same way. That shapes how we work: responsive, commercially sharp, and accountable for outcomes rather than activity.
A portfolio you own, with the autonomy to run it your way
Direct client relationships instead of high-volume claims processing
A small, capable team where your work is visible and your outcomes are known
Structured onboarding and ongoing career development
A competitive salary package, discussed openly at interview
Full time, based in our Glebe office, with time out with clients across Sydney
