About the role
Council is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Casual Librarians to join the Library Experience Team. This is an opportunity to contribute to vibrant public library services across the Ku-ring-gai Library Service, supporting customers, delivering engaging programs and promoting the many ways our libraries connect people with information, learning and community.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Deliver exceptional customer service across readers' advisory, reference and circulation.
Connect the community with the library through programs, events, outreach and specialist services.
Support and lead library staff by allocating work, providing guidance and resolving customer issues.
Promote library services and create a welcoming, positive experience for customers.
Support day-to-day library operations, including collection maintenance, workroom tasks and reporting faults.
Work flexibly across Ku-ring-gai Library branches, including assisting with events, training and activities.
Qualifications, skills & experience
Qualified library professional with relevant library/information science qualifications and eligibility for ALIA Associate Membership.
Experienced in public libraries, with strong skills in readers' advisory, reference, circulation and library programs.
Passionate about customer service, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident problem-solver with strong organisation, time management and conflict resolution skills.
Digitally capable, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, mobile technology, social media and e-resources.
A collaborative and flexible team player who brings initiative, enthusiasm and a commitment to career development.
