The Cyber Security Specialist (GRC) is responsible for managing and improving customer's security governance, risk management and compliance framework. This role ensures adherence to Defence security regulatory requirements, develop security policies meeting business objectives, conducts regular risk assessments and implement controls to protect customer's digital assets.
Description
Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and frameworks as per regulatory requirements.
Perform regular security audits
Identify cyber security risks and implement security controls.
Vulnerability Management and Threat Detection
Security Event log monitoring
Develop and maintain Cyber Security Assessment and Authorization (Accreditation) documentation suite.
Assess security control effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in cyber security / information technology OR related experience.
5+ years' experience in Cyber security risk management / policy development/ governance.
Strong knowledge of security audit, documentation development, vulnerability management and security event monitoring.
Already hold and ability to maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance – must be an Australian Citizen!
Ability to work at Homebush and other sites around Sydney, to a hybrid nature of 3 days a week onsite/in office and 2 days of flexibility
Preferred Qualifications
Industry certifications like CISA, ISO Lead Implementer / auditor or similar are desirable
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible to obtain a Defence Security Clearance to work in this role – please be mindful to obtain a clearance, one of the main requirements is you must be an Australian Citizen.
