St John of God Geelong Hospital provides a comprehensive range of acute services to the rapidly growing coastal city. The modern and up-to-date hospital has a 24/7 accident and emergency department, a comprehensive surgical program supported by a 12-bed critical/intensive care unit, rapidly growing cardiology, medical, rehabilitation, and cancer services.
Your Position at St John of God Geelong Hospital
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Enrolled & Registered Nurse to join our highly skilled 3 East Surgical/Medical team at St John of God Geelong Hospital on a permanent full-time basis. 3 East is a 29-bed Surgical/Medical ward providing high-quality, patient-centred care across a diverse range of specialties, including Gynaecology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Plastics, Vascular, Paediatrics and General Medical. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team while further developing your clinical skills across a broad range of post-operative and medical presentations.
You will play an integral role in delivering safe, compassionate and evidence-based care to patients throughout their hospital journey. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate relevant acute surgical and/or medical nursing experience, a solid commitment to patient-centred care and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You must be available and able to work across a rotating roster, including AM, PM and night duty (ND) shifts, as well as weekends. The Position Provides safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care to allocated patients in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, Care Paths and professional standards. Undertakes comprehensive patient assessments,



recognising changes in clinical condition and escalating concerns appropriately. Provides high-quality post-operative nursing care to patients following surgical procedures, including monitoring recovery, pain management, wound care and mobilisation. Administers medications and treatments safely and effectively in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Ensures Infection Prevention and Management policies and procedures are understood, adhered to and consistently implemented in clinical practice.
About You You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Enrolled or Registered Nurse, with recent clinical experience in an acute care, surgical, medical or relevant healthcare environment. To succeed in this role, you will have well-developed clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong assessment skills and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality and patient-centred care. You will be compassionate, organised and patient-focused, with a genuine commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience throughout the surgical and medical journey. The Benefits:
Enrolled Nurse Salary: $67,387 to $88,938 (pro rata for part time), plus 12% superannuation
Registered Nurse Salary $85,480 to $107,881 (pro rata basis for part time) plus 12% superannuation
Permanent part-time opportunities available, working up to 30 hours per week
