About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane's Oncology Ward (10B)
has an exciting opportunity for two passionate and motivated
Registered Nurses
to join the team on a
permanent part-time basis, working 32hrs per week (0.80 FTE).
Be part of the dedicated team at the Level 10 Oncology Ward of Mater Hospital Brisbane, a specialized 28-bed unit providing compassionate, around-the-clock care to patients facing cancer. This unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring continuous support and expert nursing care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation
and
access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900

What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse, you will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, willingness to facilitate and encourage cohesive, positive professional relationships and be required to demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve patient care outcomes relevant to the ward.
Assess patient conditions, create comprehensive nursing care plans, and monitor patients' progress throughout their treatment
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients
Offer emotional support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing education on treatment options and side effects
Document patient information accurately, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans




Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards
Participate in ongoing professional development activities, staying up to date with the latest advancements in oncology nursing practices
About you
To be considered for this position, you will have:
Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions)
Have advanced clinical competency and experience within an Oncology area
Have demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills
Have the ability to function within a multidisciplinary team environment
Previous experience with administering chemotherapy and experience with CVADS is desirable however not required. If no experience, willingness to acquire the skill
You will have strong leadership ability and experience, excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to promote the philosophy and values of Mater to all staff.
