We are looking for a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager with experience delivering commercial office fit-out, refurbishment or workplace projects.
You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders to manage the successful delivery of office fit-out projects from initial brief and design through procurement, construction and final handover.
This is a client-side/project consultancy role, so candidates from a contractor or fit-out background who have strong project management and stakeholder management experience would also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Manage office fit-out and refurbishment projects from project initiation through to completion and handover.
Work with clients to establish project objectives, scope, budget and programme.
Coordinate architects, interior designers, engineers, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
Manage project programmes, milestones and deliverables.
Monitor project costs and budgets in conjunction with the cost management team.
Manage procurement and contractor engagement processes.
Review tenders, quotations and contractor submissions.
Monitor construction progress and ensure projects remain on programme.
Identify and manage project risks, issues, changes and potential delays.
Chair and coordinate project meetings and provide regular progress reports to clients.
Manage client and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Review design development and ensure the project remains aligned with the client's requirements.
Coordinate site activities and monitor quality, programme and compliance.
Manage variations, commercial issues and change control.
Coordinate defects, commissioning and practical completion.
Lead the handover process and ensure all project documentation is completed.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to repeat business and account development.
Requirements – Project Manager
Degree or qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Building, Architecture or a related discipline.
Approximately 5–8+ years of project management experience in the construction/property sector.
Solid experience delivering commercial office fit-outs, workplace projects or major refurbishments.
Experience managing projects from design through construction and handover.
Strong understanding of construction programmes, procurement, contracts, cost and risk management.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience managing consultants and contractors.
Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and variations.
Good knowledge of Australian construction practices and regulations.
Strong Microsoft Office skills; experience with project management/scheduling tools is advantageous.
Requirements – Assistant Project Manager
For the APM level, we can consider candidates with approximately 3–5 years' experience who have worked on:
Commercial office fit-outs
Workplace projects
Retail or hospitality fit-outs
Corporate relocations
Base-build refurbishment projects
The APM should have good exposure to project coordination, consultant/contractor management, programme tracking, procurement, reporting and site delivery, with the ability to take ownership of individual workstreams.
