Your role at St John of God Midland Public Hospital St John of God Midland Public Hospital we provide a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, critical care, day chemotherapy, paediatric care, aged and stroke care, maternity and general surgery.
Our 307-bed public hospital is operated under a public-private partnership between the State Government and St John of God Health Care.
St John of God Midland Public Hospital is seeking experienced and motivated Consultant Paediatricians , including Dual-trained Paediatricians/Neonatologists , to join our dynamic Paediatric Service on a permanent basis.
Multiple opportunities are available, with flexibility for appointments to be shared across one or more successful candidates.
Positions will be structured to meet departmental requirements and service needs while supporting individual areas of expertise and professional interests.
As part of meeting service requirements, there is a need for coverage on Mondays and Fridays, and successful candidates will be required to support this coverage.
About the Role As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will provide specialist paediatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment while delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care.
You will provide leadership and clinical guidance to medical team members, promoting quality improvement initiatives, patient safety and best practice standards across the service.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will supervise, mentor and educate doctors in training and other healthcare professionals,



while collaborating closely with fellow consultants, nursing staff, allied health professionals and the Head of Department.
You will also contribute to the strategic development, ongoing enhancement and continuous improvement of the Paediatric Service to ensure the highest standards of care for children and their families.
You will hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Paediatric and Child Health Division, Australia and have extensive experience in paediatric medicine You will demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, along with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care at both an individual and service level.
Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements—including Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health—and an understanding of how these impact employment, people management and service delivery are essential.
Experience in research activities will be highly regarded, as will a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
