DIVERSIONAL THERAPIST Rei Fong Pty Ltd (St James Terrace) Location: Box Hill, VIC **** Employment Type: Full time Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation About the Role Rei Fong Pty Ltd (St James) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Diversional Therapist to join our team in Box Hill, VIC ****.
The Diversional Therapist will be responsible for assessing clients' recreational, social and leisure needs and developing and delivering meaningful programs that encourage participation, social connection, independence and overall wellbeing.
The role requires an understanding of each client's individual interests, abilities, strengths and support requirements.
The successful candidate will use this information to plan appropriate individual and group activities and work collaboratively with clients, staff, volunteers and community service providers to support positive outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Assess clients' recreational interests, individual abilities, strengths, preferences and support requirements.
Evaluate clients' capacity to undertake different activities, complete tasks and interact effectively with others.
Plan, develop and deliver structured leisure, recreational and social programs that promote participation, engagement and wellbeing.
Develop individualised activities based on each client's interests, skills, abilities and personal circumstances.
Review client participation and adapt programs in response to changes in individual needs, interests, skills and capabilities.
Encourage and support clients to participate in meaningful activities suited to their individual interests and abilities.
Plan and coordinate recreational activities, group programs, social functions and other leisure events.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of recreational facilities, programs, services and support resources available within the organisation and broader community.
Provide clients with information about appropriate community activities, programs and support services.
Assist clients to access suitable community-based recreational and support resources where appropriate.
Monitor the effectiveness of leisure and recreational programs and make adjustments to improve participation and client outcomes.
Collaborate with other staff to ensure recreational programs complement clients' broader care and support requirements.
Assist with the training, guidance and supervision of staff and volunteers involved in recreational and activity programs.
Maintain accurate documentation relating to client assessments, activity plans, participation, program reviews and outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience Applicants should possess: Certificate IV / Diploma in Leisure and Health, or a higher relevant qualification in Diversional Therapy, Leisure and Health or Therapeutic Recreation.
At least one year experience in planning,
coordinating and delivering leisure, recreational, social or wellbeing programs.
Demonstrated ability to assess clients' individual interests, capabilities and support requirements and develop appropriate activities and programs.
Knowledge of person-centred approaches within health, aged care or community service environments.
Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills.
Valid Australian Driving Licence Skills and Attributes The successful applicant will demonstrate: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
