About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join a global financial services organisation in a specialist Risk Assurance role, supporting the business in strengthening its approach to Financial Economic Crime (FEC) risk.
Working within the first line of defence, you will play a key role in monitoring and assessing financial crime controls, identifying emerging issues and supporting the business to maintain consistently high standards across its operations.
You will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of FEC risks, including AML, CTF, fraud and sanctions, while partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to drive continuous improvement.
The opportunity As a Risk Assurance Specialist, you will support the execution of the organisation's first-line monitoring framework and contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of its monitoring approach.
You will be responsible for: Developing, maintaining and continuously improving the first-line FEC monitoring framework, strategy and procedures.
Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of FEC processes across the organisation's network.
Reporting on monitoring outcomes, findings, key issues and emerging trends.
Identifying process improvement opportunities, control deficiencies and systematic issues.
Supporting relevant teams to remediate identified issues and close control gaps.
Working closely with stakeholders across the first, second and third lines of defence on FEC and monitoring matters.
Contributing to a solid risk culture through effective risk assessments, controls and mitigating actions.
Supporting the business to ensure its activities remain within defined risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

About you You will be an experienced Risk, Audit, Compliance or Financial Crime professional with a strong background in financial crime control testing, monitoring or assurance.
You will bring: Strong knowledge of AML, CTF and sanctions frameworks and regulations.
Experience working within a complex financial services environment.
Proven experience in risk management and control frameworks.
A strong understanding of the customer lifecycle within financial services.
Experience identifying control deficiencies, risks and opportunities for process improvement.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
The ability to influence and collaborate across multiple lines of defence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to operate effectively within an international and multicultural environment.
