About the office The Finance Office plays an integral role in the success of the University ensuring responsible stewardship through financial performance and strategic procurement, with a view to financial sustainability and growth.
About the role The Finance Business Partner Lead provides expert financial advice, guidance, and support across a broad range of strategic and operational financial matters, enabling informed decision-making within the assigned Faculty or Division.
Leading a team, the role is responsible for driving the financial direction of the portfolio through budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis, while operating with a high degree of autonomy and partnering closely with stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.




Key Responsibilities Monitor financial performance across the assigned portfolio, identifying opportunities for optimisation and providing timely financial insights to senior management.
Provide strategic management accounting advice and recommendations, supporting effective decision-making and alignment with organisational objectives.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial performance discussions with senior leaders, and partner with Faculty/Division executives throughout the University budget and forecast process.
Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts, reporting packs, and financial analysis of business performance across the portfolio, supported by a Senior Finance Business Partner.
Contribute to and implement finance projects, plans, tools, processes, and systems that strengthen the University's financial management capability and address future challenges.
Supervise and support a Senior Finance Business Partner, while facilitating training and development initiatives to enhance financial literacy across the University.
Qualifications, skills experience Postgraduate qualifications, preferably CA/CPA or equivalent, together with extensive relevant professional experience.
Significant experience in financial reporting, budgeting, financial modelling, and business partnering within a complex organisation, with a demonstrated ability to improve financial performance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills,



with proven success in building collaborative and trusted relationships to support effective stakeholder management and business partnering.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing competing priorities, with the ability to identify innovative solutions to meet business demands.
High-level of knowledge in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, accountancy, numeracy, and reconciliation, supported by strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement and develop creative solutions to complex business challenges.
