APS6 Clinician 24-month contract opportunity Hervey Bay location (QLD) Current Baseline Security Clearance and WWVP/WWCC or ability to obtain About the Role We are seeking an experienced Clinician to provide high-quality mental health and wellbeing services to veterans and their families.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based assessments, counselling, case management, and therapeutic interventions, while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective and coordinated care.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through the delivery of qualified clinical services, participation in community programs, and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives that support client wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities Include Provide evidence-based assessments, risk assessments, counselling, and case management services to clients.
Develop and maintain care plans, clinical records, and confidential case documentation.
Monitor client progress and reviewing treatment outcomes to identify ongoing support needs.
Liaise with families, treatment providers, and stakeholders to coordinate care and achieve positive outcomes.
Participate in case reviews, clinical supervision, and multidisciplinary discussions to manage complex cases.
Facilitate or co-facilitate group programs and psychoeducation activities.
Contribute to community engagement, service promotion, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support intake, assessment, and allocation processes to ensure clients receive appropriate services.
Maintain professional registration, continuing professional development, and adherence to ethical and legislative requirements.
Key Skills and Capabilities Strong clinical assessment, counselling,
and case management experience.
Ability to build rapport and establish effective therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with clients and stakeholders.
Sound judgement, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills when managing complex client matters.
High level of emotional intelligence, resilience, and professionalism.
Commitment to evidence-based practice, ethical decision-making, and client-centred care.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Mandatory Requirements Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain: A Working with Vulnerable People registration or Working with Children Check.
A Baseline Security Clearance.
Australian Citizenship.
In addition, applicants must hold one of the following: Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse; or Membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); or A Master's-level Counselling qualification with relevant professional registration.
