Melbourne

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior personal injury lawyer to work on
complex and interesting matters
, provide
coverage advice to insurers (including London market underwriters)
, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of our practice. You'll work closely with senior lawyers and partners in a team-oriented, high-performing team environment.
About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of complex litigated and unlitigated matters across
personal injury
. You will also provide strategic and pragmatic advice to insurer clients while mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day conduct of a range of complex litigated and unlitigated matters
Preparing coverage and associated advice to insurers, including local and London Underwriters
Managing matters in line with insurer KPIs and service standards
Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, advices, motions and settlement agreements
Appearing in court, mediations and settlement conferences, and instructing counsel
Communicating with insured clients, insurers, brokers, counsel and expert witnesses
Reviewing and preparing evidence and written submissions
Assisting with and driving business development initiatives
Mentoring, supervising and supporting junior lawyers
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and industry developments
Ensuring compliance with firm policies, procedures and confidentiality obligations
What will help you succeed in this role?
Minimum 4 years' post-admission experience
in personal injury litigation




Public liability experience
(essential)
Experience in general litigation
Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
A collaborative mindset and desire to work in a high-performing team
An interest in fee-earning, case management and client service
High level of competency with
iManage
(or similar document management systems) and time recording software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
Willingness to adopt and utilise
AI and new technologies
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and professionalism
Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team outcome
