About Ward 1 East
Ward 1 East is a specialised unit with nine acute adult mental health beds and eight addiction medicine detox beds. This supportive and therapeutic environment caters to consumers who benefit from a smaller, low-dependency setting for their acute care needs. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented care in a collaborative and nurturing atmosphere.
About the role
The Registered Nurse is a valued and collaborative member of the multidisciplinary health care team at Eastern Health and is accountable for coordinating and delivering safe and comprehensive patient centred care while working competently within their scope of practice and in alignment with the Eastern Health and Nursing and Midwifery Board Practice Standards.
As RN, you will be a valued and collaborative member of a multidisciplinary health care team
We're looking for someone with dual diagnosis capability and who would bring ideas, enthusiasm, passion and an ethos of patient-centred care to the team
As RN, you'll be accountable for coordinating and delivery secure and comprehensive patient-centred care




You will work within your scope of practice and in alignment with the Eastern Health and Nursing and Midwifery Board Practice Standards
About you
To be successful in this role, you require:
Current registration with AHPRA (essential)
Recent mental health and AOD nursing experience (within Australia)
Post graduate mental health qualifications (desirable) and AOD stream qualifications (highly regarded)
High level communication, both written and verbal, demonstrated high level of inter personal skills with consumers, their families, and all health care professionals
Demonstrated clinical skills aligned with experience and scope of practice
A strong commitment to high quality care , recovery-oriented care
Willingness and flexibility to work a rotating roster across all seven days of the week, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the
Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice)
. Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
