Your day in the life of a Project Manager, Field Operations at Optus
Lead the
end‐to‐end delivery of fibre infrastructure projects
within the Damage and Relocations (DAR) portfolio, supporting 5G Mobile and Core Network programs
Manage projects from survey and approvals through to build, completion and handover — ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality and HSE standards
Drive RFQ / RFT processes, contractor engagement, purchase orders, cost variations and performance management
Act as the escalation point for complex delivery and Severity 1 & 2 service interruptions, working across internal teams and external partners
Build solid working relationships with councils, regulators, utilities, developers, vendors and internal stakeholders
Identify and lead
process improvements, automation and transformation initiatives
to improve customer experience and reduce cost
Provide clear reporting, insights and updates to senior stakeholders and national forums
Your skills to pay the bills
Tertiary qualification in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
Extensive experience
in project management, leadership and change management within a complex operational environment




Proven experience delivering infrastructure or network projects (telecommunications or similar industries preferred)
Strong commercial capability, including vendor, contract and cost management
Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
Strong problem‐solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in high‐pressure environments
A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement and customer‐first focus
