to step into the pivotal role of
Clinical Director of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a growing service, shape strategic direction, and influence the future of women's health across a broad regional catchment while continuing to maintain hands-on clinical practice.
The Opportunity
As Clinical Director, you will oversee the O&G; service within a connected regional network, ensuring safe, contemporary, and sustainable care across maternity, gynaecology, and reproductive health services.
You will lead a passionate team of consultants, registrars, midwives, and multidisciplinary clinicians, and work collaboratively with neighbouring regional hospitals to provide coordinated and consistent care for women and families.
This role offers a balanced mix of
executive leadership
and
clinical contribution
, with up to 0.5 FTE dedicated to clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Provide strategic leadership and direction for the O&G; department
✔ Maintain an active clinical workload in obstetrics and gynaecology
✔ Drive clinical governance, safety, and quality improvement initiatives
✔ Strengthen workforce development, supervision, and training
✔ Collaborate across regional and rural facilities to support an integrated network of care




✔ Ensure service sustainability and uphold high standards of patient-centred care
✔ Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
About You
You are a senior O&G; specialist with:
FRANZCOG
(mandatory)
AHPRA Specialist Registration
, or eligibility
Strong clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology
Demonstrated leadership capability and interest in service development
