Job Description

This role's primary purpose is to help leverage Rest's data capabilities to enable better and more targeted
experiences through Rest's digital channels. The role acts as a conduit and a technical SME bridging the
gap between the data and digital platforms. The role will provide technical leadership and implementation
capacity designing and implementing technical solutions involving the data, API and digital platforms.
Support solution architects in designing scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions
Create detailed technical designs for solutions involving the data, API and digital platforms
Implement (andor support other teams in implementing) technical solutions across the data, API and digital platforms
Ensure technical solutions align with architectural, data and engineering strategies, principles and
standards
Lead the technical delivery of data-driven solutions including reporting, analytics, and digital experience enablement
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively propose new features, enhancements, and highlight innovation opportunities (e.g. customer 360 enrichment,
advanced analytics); assess applicability and propose innovative solutions.
Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, data scientists, analysts, QA, UX, and engineering teams to translate business and product requirements into technical solutions; ensure clarity in scope, requirements, and delivery outcomes.
Identify and address risks related to data quality, scalability, integration, and platform resilience
Support effective operational management of in-scope solutions including technical problem-solving, incident resolution, and ongoing system optimisation
Follow and enforce Rest software engineering standards and best practices including coding standards & guidelines and code review processes to ensure high-quality, well-documented, maintainable code
Collaborate within agile teams and participate in team planning, estimation, reviews, stand-ups and retrospectives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Cloud certifications are desirable
Data Platforms & Analytics (Snowflake, GCP, GA4, Personalisation Engines, BI Tools, Data Pipelines)
Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFormation (or related tools, ideally
CDK)
Experience with Mobile App and web development technologies
Hands on experience with CI/CD tools and automation (e.g. Git, GitHub, AWS CodePipeline or similar)
Minimum 5 years of experience with NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Git
Minimum 5 years of experience delivering cloud-native (AWS) solutions, ideally serverless
Proven understanding of QA techniques like code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, TDD
Experience building consumer facing solutions using micro-services patterns
Experience with business and technical requirements analysis
Experience delivering within Agile teams and understanding of Agile values
AWS experience – EventBridge, DynamoDB and RDS, CloudFront, WAF, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, VPC,
EC2, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild
Enjoys and seeks continuous learning and keeps up to date with industry developments and best
