DeAraugo & Lea Electrical Contractors (VIC) Pty Ltd is a local family business that has experienced significant growth within the industry in recent years.
As part of the next stage of growth within our business, a position has become available for an Electrical Service Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the development and management of our Service & Maintenance division.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to take ownership of an existing area of our business and develop it into a dedicated and successful division.
We cover all areas of the electrical trade and service a diverse range of commercial, industrial, government and construction clients.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with our existing customer base while also developing new customers, maintenance agreements and service opportunities.
This is a full-time position and would suit an experienced electrician, service manager, project manager or electrical supervisor looking to take the next step in their career.
We are looking for someone who has the mindset of building a long-term career with our company and who wants the chance to help build and lead a division.
The position will consist of the following:
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation and growth of the Service & Maintenance division
Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers
Actively identifying and developing new service and maintenance opportunities
Developing preventative and programmed maintenance agreements with customers
Quoting and estimating service, maintenance and small project works




Scheduling electricians and apprentices and managing labour requirements
Managing reactive service and breakdown works
Communicating with clients, suppliers and staff to ensure works are delivered efficiently
Managing purchasing, subcontractors and materials
Monitoring job performance, labour productivity and profitability
Managing variations, WIP and invoicing of works
Conducting site visits to inspect and quote new works, attend meetings and undertake QA
Building and maintaining a forward pipeline of service and maintenance work
Working with our Commercial and Industrial teams to identify opportunities across our existing customer base
Assisting with the recruitment, management and development of the Service team
Taking responsibility for the overall financial and operational performance of the division
The applicant must have the below as a minimum:
Qualified Electrician with strong industry experience
Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence
Manual Car Licence
Construction Induction Card
Strong computer skills
Strong communication and customer relationship skills
Ability to manage multiple jobs, customers and staff at the same time
Good understanding of electrical estimating, labour and material costs
Experience with the below is advantageous but not essential:




Electrical service and maintenance management
Project Management
Estimating and quoting
Managing electricians and apprentices
Business development and customer relationship management
Preventative maintenance contracts
Simpro
Groundplan
Microsoft Office / Excel
OneDrive / SharePoint
Commercial or industrial electrical works
Financial management including job margins, WIP and profitability
This position requires a person who is driven, focused and commercially minded, with the ability to manage their time effectively and take ownership of their area of the business.
We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys developing customer relationships and generating work, rather than simply managing the work that comes through the door.
The successful applicant will be given the support and autonomy to build the Service division, including access to our existing customer base, management team, administration, HSEQ systems and established business infrastructure.
A salary package will be tailored to suit the successful applicant's knowledge and experience and will include a company vehicle and performance-based incentives linked to the growth and profitability of the Service division.
