ABOUT THE ROLE
RaptorTech is seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join our team in Perth, WA on a full-time basis.
In this pivotal role, you will provide mechanical design support to RaptorTech's portfolio of technology products for construction and mining machinery.
Working closely with the engineering manager you will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical design and drawing through to manufacture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
RaptorTech designs and manufactures all our technology components in house.
This role will focus on;
Designing enclosures for Electronics equipment, communications equipment and other technology components
Designing bracketry for mounting to mobile equipment
Designing interface kits for our patented autonomous braking retrofit system to continue to expand our line of supported machinery.
This may require travelling to sites to access the equipment
Creation of drawings and other design artefacts including mechanical and low voltage electrical
Develop and administer testing regimes for vibration, IP,
thermal and structural and field performance of designs
A key aspect of the role is the ability to integrate the requirements of other disciplines (RF, Electrical, Electronic software etc) into the mechanical design process, as such you will have the opportunity to become an expert across all our varied products sets
Assist the senior engineer to onboard 3D scanning technology to assist in capturing machine data for design integrations
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Designer, or in a similar technical role
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks or other industry-standard CAD software
Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical specifications accurately
Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Previous experience working with large mobile machinery such as Caterpillar or Komatsu is highly desirable
Must be comfortable to work independently
