The Opportunity
We are seeking an Estimation and Asset Support Manager to join our Industrials & Energy WA team within the Asset Maintenance and Preservation business unit in Henderson.
Reporting to the Manager, Asset Maintenance and Preservation, you will play a vital role in leading the estimating and asset support functions, ensuring tenders are accurately scoped, commercially sound and aligned with operational capability.
The position requires practical knowledge of abrasive blasting, surface preparation and industrial painting to ensure estimates reflect the correct work methods, production rates, materials, plant requirements and delivery risks.

What you'll be responsible for
Leadership & Functional Management
Lead and develop the estimating and asset support team
Set performance expectations and support employee development
Prioritise activities in line with tender pipeline and operational requirements
Estimating & Tendering
Lead preparation of accurate, competitive estimates and tender submissions
Analyse scopes, specifications, drawings and contracts to confirm project requirements
Calculate labour, materials, subcontractor costs, plant, overheads and margins
Identify and document technical, commercial, HSEQ and schedule risks
Maintain pricing databases, cost benchmarks and estimating tools
Asset Support & Planning
Maintain accurate asset registers covering location, condition, availability and compliance
Develop asset inspection,



servicing and preventative maintenance schedules
Optimise plant and equipment allocation across projects and monitor utilisation
Support asset refurbishment, replacement and capital expenditure planning
Project Support & Performance
Lead tender handovers to operations and project teams
Monitor actual costs against estimates and investigate variances
Conduct post-project reviews and incorporate lessons into future estimates
Governance, Compliance & Stakeholder Management
Maintain organised and version-controlled estimating, tender and asset records
Ensure compliance with Veolia requirements, client obligations and legislation
Liaise effectively with clients, operations, HSEQ, finance, procurement and suppliers
What you'll need to be successful
Essential:
Relevant trade, technical or tertiary qualification, or substantial equivalent experience in estimating, blasting and painting operations or asset support
Demonstrated estimating and tendering experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial painting and protective coating projects
Ability to prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions
Strong practical knowledge of blasting and painting work methods, labour productivity, coating systems, material quantities, plant, access, containment, quality requirements and project delivery risks
Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and contracts
Commercial and financial acumen including cost build-ups and margins
Experience with blasting and painting plant and equipment, including inspection, maintenance, compliance and mobilisation readiness
Leadership, planning and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in estimating, asset management and Microsoft Office
Current Australian driver's licence

Experience in defence, marine, ports, mining or oil and gas
Blasting and painting trade qualification and/or AMPP/NACE coating inspection certification
