About the Role
As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you will be responsible for patient care prior to, during and after the procedure.
The majority of your work will be clinical in nature including some administrative duties.
This position is Full Time – 75 hours per fortnight.
In addition, you will be required to participate in public holiday, shift and weekend rosters.
This role will see you primarily assisting within the CT department on our secondary scanner, working alongside various Medical Imaging Technologists and another Assistant to ensure a smooth workflow of both machines.
Some of your many and varied duties will include:
Confirming patient appointments & any pre-appointment instructions via telephone
Retrieving outside imaging studies
Cannulating patients (intravenous cannulation training provided)
Preparing patients for procedures
Assisting with the positioning of patients during procedures
Assisting the technical staff member during clinical procedures, including cannulating patients
Stock control
Cleaning and housekeeping duties
Administrative duties as required
A tertiary qualification in a health/science background will be highly regarded.
