Exciting chance for OHS Manager managing BESS delivery project in the Hunter Region, NSW.
This role will be reporting to directly to the BESS Project Manager under the direction of Regional Project Director and functionally reporting to WHS Manager, Australia.
The successful candidate shall be accountable for ensuring that all OHS project management systems and processes within the project, specific to contractual and scope requirements meet the applicable Regulatory and Client requirements.
You candidate shall develop, implement, enforce, and monitor project specific management systems, provide timely and accurate subject matter guidance on OHS opportunities and challenges and work with the Client project team and key stakeholders to deliver on project objectives.
You shall report project performance as required within their area of accountability and monitor the performance of balance of plant contractors as applicable.
This position provides leadership and oversight for their area of accountability within defined BESS Project(s) and will coordinate with upstream and downstream APAC Safety and Quality teams, and or, as directed by the Client.
This position will be based on the project site.
Essential Responsibilities• Develop and implement Project OHS management system, strategies and programs for (OHS / operational) critical risk control management.
• Support the identification and development of project OHS improvement strategies together with relevant incident prevention methods and techniques.
• Provide / ensure adequate training and development is achieved in safety critical roles within the project.
• Implement monitoring systems and lead / participate in organisational review, change management and incident investigation.




• Seek to improve project OHS outcomes through championing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and test project plans (emergency response management, including emergency response teams, first responder medical teams and liaison with other services including internal and external stakeholders, and business continuity).
• In consultation with Environmental Resources, support environmental requirements IAW Regulators and Client requirements.
• Develop and lead a small OHS project team recruiting, appraisal, coaching, training, development, and motivation.
• As directed by AU WHS Manager, the Project Manager / Director and or General Manager.
Qualifications• Tertiary qualification (Advanced Diploma), engineering / project management qualifications• +7years in energy sector in HSE roles or complimentary sectors (industrial, O&G;, manufacturing)• +5 years in senior HSE leadership role within renewable sector (leading teams)• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and database management• Advanced investigative skillset with proven experience in causation investigation models (TapRoot / ICAM / 8D)• Advanced communication, report writing, presentation and key stakeholder management skillset.
• Advanced investigative / incident / trend analytical skillset• Lead auditor *****, ************, ***** management systems)• Comprehensive knowledge of OHS / WHS, E legislations within area of accountability.
Expected Duration: 18 months (3-month probation)Rate: Competitive pay $$ (double time for work on weekends and public holiday)Roster: 3 weeks on / 1 week off (may transition to 2/1 once on site, per HSE Managerdirection)Hours: ***** hours per day as directed by Site
