About the role
We are seeking a
Building Surveyor
to join the Health and Building Services team on a permanent full-time basis.
As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for assessing building applications under the direction of the Coordinator Building Services, while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will apply Building Control legislation accurately and contribute to the development of related policies and guidelines.
You will also play an significant part in promoting high standards of health, safety and amenity within the community and built environment, and actively supports the delivery and continuous improvement of the business unit plan.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
Assess building applications for compliance with the Building Code of Australia in an efficient manner.
Inspect buildings as required
Provide guidance to building officers and building assistants on Building Act and NCC Building Code of Australia matters
Assess building applications for compliance with the Residential Design Codes.
Assist in the development and implementation of innovative strategies and policies to meet changing industry needs
Apply legislative obligations under EO & OSH policies
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
Level 1, Level 2 Building Surveyor or Technician, registered under the Western Australian Building Services (Registration) Act ****
Relevant qualification
Experience assessing building applications for compliance with the NCC Building Code of Australia
Ability to interpret building legislation and provide advice and information to internal and external customers in a timely and customer focussed manner
"C" Class drivers licence
A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

salary
for this position will be from $97,****** to $122,****** per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
