This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well and can provide excellent service to patients while working efficiently as part of a healthcare team.
Key responsibilities
Welcoming patients and managing the reception desk
Answering telephone enquiries and scheduling appointments
Managing patient bookings and recalls
Processing Medicare billing and payments
Maintaining accurate patient records
Scanning, filing and managing correspondence
Communicating with doctors, nurses, pathology and other healthcare providers
Assisting with general administrative duties
Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
About you
Friendly, approachable and compassionate
Reliable and punctual
Professional and well presented




Confident communicating with patients in person and by telephone
Able to work efficiently in a busy environment
Comfortable using computers and learning recent systems
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Respectful of patient confidentiality
Previous medical reception experience is highly regarded, particularly experience with medical practice software, Medicare billing and appointment management
