We are seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Tullamarine.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of vehicles across different makes and models.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and toolsInspect engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and drivetrain components to identify faults and defectsCarry out servicing and preventive maintenance on passenger and commercial vehiclesPerform engine oil and filter changes and other routine maintenance servicesRepair and replace worn or defective mechanical components and vehicle partsCarry out brake and clutch inspections, repairs and component replacementsPerform transmission servicing, repairs and component replacements as requiredDiagnoses and repair suspension, steering, and drivetrain-related faultsPerform engine repairs and engine replacement work in accordance with manufacturer specificationsCarry out tyre fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment services where requiredDismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components and assembliesTest and adjust repaired components to ensure proper operation, safety and performanceUse manufacturer service manuals,
technical specifications and diagnostic information when requiredConduct detailed vehicle inspections to identify maintenance and repair requirementsMaintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and servicing undertakenEnsure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard of workmanshipSkills & ExperienceAt least 1 year of relevant full time experience as a Motor MechanicStrong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExperience with vehicle servicing and preventative maintenanceExperience in engine, transmission, brake, clutch, suspension and steering repairsAbility to use computerized automotive diagnostic equipmentAbility to inspect, repair, replace and reassemble vehicle componentsGood understanding of automotive mechanical systems and repair proceduresAbility to interpret technical manuals and manufacturer specificationsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication, problem-solving and time-management skillsCommitment to workplace health and safety requirementsQualificationsAQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in a related fieldApplicants with at least three years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
