Every day students, staff and visitors rely on The Gordon's campuses being safe, secure and operating smoothly.
As a Campus Security Officer, you'll play a critical role in protecting our people, property and operations while maintaining a visible and trusted presence across our campuses.
This is more than a traditional static security role.
You'll be friendly and welcoming, combining security expertise, strong people skills and operational judgement.
From responding to incidents and supporting emergency situations to identifying opportunities for improvement and building positive relationships, no two days are the same.
Working across our campuses, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference while contributing to the continuous improvement of campus safety and security operations.
This role is primarily based across our Geelong City and East Geelong campuses, with occasional shifts at our Werribee campus.
Travel between campuses may be required throughout the day.
Typical shifts can look like:
7:00am to 3:00pm
8:30am to 4:30pm
Occasional 3:00pm to 10:00pm shifts

In this role, you'll:
Monitor and operate CCTV, access control, alarm and communication systems to maintain a high level of campus security awareness
Responding to incidents, emergencies and alarms while conducting risk assessments and coordinating appropriate actions
Conducting foot and vehicle patrols across campuses to identify security risks, hazards and operational issues
Managing access control, credentialing, keys and restricted access areas in accordance with procedures
Supporting investigations through CCTV reviews, evidence collection and detailed incident reporting
Contributing to emergency preparedness, security improvements and continuous enhancement of security operations




You'll also contribute to risk preparedness initiatives, identify opportunities for improvement and work closely with colleagues to continuously strengthen security operations across The Gordon.

About You:
You're an experienced security professional who thrives in fast paced and professional environments.
You bring strong operational judgement, a calm and professional approach, and the ability to confidently adapt and respond to changing situations.
You're proactive, solutions focused and enjoy being involved in more than just traditional security duties.
Whether you're responding to an incident, building relationships across our diverse sites or identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes, you're someone who takes ownership and makes a positive impact.
You'll bring:
Proven experience in a security role within a complex, high activity, large venue or multi-site environment.
Experience within an Education facility will be highly regarded including demonstrated experience responding to incidents, emergencies and critical events
Strong experience operating CCTV, access control, alarm and incident management systems
Excellent situational awareness with the ability to identify, assess and respond to emerging risks and threats
Strong communication, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills, including strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare detailed and accurate reports
The ability to work autonomously and be a self-starter, exercise initiative and make confident operational decisions
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, visitors and contractors




A Victorian Private Security Licence (or equivalent accredited security qualification)
A current Level II First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
A valid drivers licence

Salary Range:
PACCT Level 4 - $71,946 - $76,010 p.a + Superannuation
