In this role, you'll provide first-line support and trusted advice to employees and external contacts across a range of HR queries, policies, and systems. Whether it’s through phone, live chat, or HR cases, you’ll respond with empathy, accuracy, and speed, ensuring every interaction contributes to a great people experience.
You’ll play a key role in keeping our data clean, our processes sharp, and our knowledge base up to date, while identifying trends and opportunities to improve how we support our people. From coaching through policy to refining self-service tools, your work will help drive better outcomes for both employees and the wider People & Culture team. This is a hybrid role, working from both our Sydney office and home, with Tuesdays and Thursdays being mandatory at the office.
This is a 12 month max-term contract opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney).
What You'll Do
- Respond and Resolve: Address and resolve queries raised by IAG employees and external contacts within the agreed service level.
- Be an expert: Assist the broader People Team by offering consistent, credible,
and timely first-point general advice on HR enquiries, including IAG’s Enterprise Agreement and People Policies.
- Support Data Accuracy: Validate data to ensure accurate capture, enabling effective operation of people systems and processes for an optimal people experience.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the people experience and address gaps or learning opportunities within specific business divisions.
- Team Collaboration: Strong team player who wants to succeed and actively contribute to the overall success of the team.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to relevant IAG people policies and external laws and regulations.
- Thrive Under Pressure: Demonstrate the ability to maintain composure and deliver high quality results in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
What You'll Bring
- A minimum of 6 months experience in a generalist HR or P&C; Coordinator role
- Knowledge of employment relations frameworks and employment legislation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Tertiary qualification/s in Human Resources preferred
- Previous experience working within the insurance or financial services industry preferred
- Telephone based customer service skills
