Manager, Training System Insights

- Salary: (Plus Superannuation)
- Work Type: Fixed term (external applicants) / Temporary Assignment (internal DJSIR employees) / Secondment (VPS employees external to DJSIR) (12 months)
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven leader with strong analytical, policy and stakeholder engagement skills to lead the Training System Insights team. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to drive innovation, build team capability, and shape reforms that improve outcomes for learners and employers across Victoria's vocational education and training (VET) system.

Main accountabilities:

- Manages an area with significant budget, staff responsibilities or strategic importance
- Identifies and responds to recent and emerging strategic issues impacting on the operating environment
- Develops briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for decision within an organisation
- Uses knowledge of structures, processes and culture of government, the sector and the department to develop policies and new program or project initiatives

The Team

The position of Manager, Training System Insights forms a part of the Policy & Strategy within the Skills and TAFE.

Skills and TAFE (ST) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

- Team Management: Aligns community needs, service delivery model,



talent availability against workforce strategy and architecture.
- Policy Design and Development: Builds trusting relationships with Senior Leaders across the VPS to engender support for proposals. Provides thought leadership to others in area of expertise.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Works to find new ways to deliver outcomes. Recognises the merits of different options and acts accordingly. Builds commitment of others to adopt new strategies to deliver against outcomes.
