- Full time, ongoing position available - 80 hours per fortnight (with an accrued day off per month).
- Up to $170,000.00 - $197,000.00 per annum + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave.

About the team
The Haematology, Medical Oncology and Integrative Palliative Care portfolio delivers complex, specialised cancer services across inpatient and ambulatory settings. The portfolio includes Clinical Haematology, Multi-stay Ward 5A, Ambulatory Cell Therapies, Apheresis, 1E, Cryopreservation, FACT, Medical Oncology Ward 3A and Integrative Palliative Care Ward 1A. You will work in partnership with Medical Directors, the Deputy Director of Nursing, clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Operations Director is accountable for the operational performance and delivery of care across Haematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care. The role leads service quality, patient access and flow, workforce planning, financial performance, business planning, contracts and continuous improvement, while supporting a solid customer service culture and the strategic development of these specialised services.
A regular day will see you:
- Leading service performance against clinical, access, workforce and financial targets and translating data into practical improvement actions.
- Partnering with Medical Directors and nursing leaders to optimise models of care, patient pathways, access, flow and discharge processes.
- Managing budgets, business plans, capital priorities, contracts and revenue opportunities across the portfolio.
- Leading quality, safety, accreditation, workforce and change initiatives in collaboration with operational and corporate partners.
About you
You are an experienced health service leader who combines commercial and operational acumen with a strong commitment to compassionate, evidence-based cancer care. You can lead through complexity, build trusted relationships and turn strategic objectives into measurable improvements.
You'll bring with you:
- Senior operational leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of complex hospital systems and clinical and financial performance indicators.
- Health degree qualification and postgraduate qualification in management, health/business administration or equivalent, or a commitment to obtaining one.
- Demonstrated success delivering clinical,
access and financial targets while leading high-performing teams.
- Excellent people leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement and change-management capability.
- Knowledge of cancer services, accreditation requirements, including ACHS, FACT and NATA, and relevant supply-chain processes.

The Operations Director Haematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care is responsible for the performance and operational delivery of care at Peter Mac across the Haematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care Services in partnership with the Medical Directors of each service, and the Deputy Director of Nursing for inpatients. The Operations Director will lead the delivery of safe high quality clinical services, efficient patient access and flow, budget development and financial performance, quality and business planning, contractual, and administrative functions of the Division.
Importantly the position will have key responsibility for delivering operational, quality, workforce and financial performance targets across the Division.

- Previous operational experience leading Healthcare at a senior level.

- Proven ability to lead within a health care environment.
- Track record of high performance in delivering against clinical, access and financial targets.
