Most engineers spend their career building depth. Few have the opportunity to build breadth.
About You
You are unlikely to describe yourself as a typical process engineer. You have built experience across multiple stages of project development and understand how decisions made in one area can influence outcomes elsewhere. You may have worked within an owner's team, EPCM, mining operations or consulting.
You have reached the point in your career where people seek out your judgement, not just your technical expertise. You have developed both depth of experience and the rare breadth of experience that comes from exposure to studies, project development, engineering, construction and operations.
This ability to draw connections across disciplines and see the bigger picture is exactly what our clients value. They engage Palaris because we help them focus on what matters most. We bring perspective, challenge assumptions and help clients make better decisions.
You will likely bring
- Significant experience spanning several stages of project development, including studies, engineering, construction, commissioning or operations
- A track record of applying process engineering expertise across different commodities and project environments
- The ability to engage confidently with clients and provide practical, experience-based advice
- Robust technical foundations combined with an appreciation of the broader project, operational and commercial context
About the Role
Working from Perth, you will apply your experience across a diverse range of commodities, projects and jurisdictions.
With more than 5,000 projects completed across 50 countries and 30 commodities, the breadth of work at Palaris is difficult to replicate elsewhere.
The opportunity to learn from different commodities, different operating environments and different approaches is one of the reasons many people choose consulting. The opportunity to do it at this scale is rare.
You will work directly with mining companies, investors and project owners across project development studies, technical reviews, operational improvement initiatives, due diligence assignments and independent advisory engagements.
Why Palaris?
Palaris is a specialist advisory firm to the mining and resources sector. We advise mining companies, financial institutions, investors and government agencies on major technical and investment decisions.
Unlike larger engineering organisations, you will work directly with clients and decision makers.
You will have the opportunity to influence outcomes, contribute across a broad range of projects and help shape the continued growth of the business.
We hire people who first understand the situation, understand the people, understand what is driving the decision and then apply their experience.
What We Offer
- Perth-based role
- International project exposure
- Travel typically once per month
- Direct access to senior clients and decision makers
- Opportunity to influence outcomes rather than navigate layers of internal process
- Experienced and highly collaborative team
- 9-day fortnight
Interested?
We know we are looking for someone who has spent a career joining dots that other people did not realise were connected. If that sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.
If you feel you might fit the brief, reach out. Contact Chris Anderson on (02) 4911 2*** or apply now including a brief cover letter.
All applicants must have full work rights for Australia, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
